I specialize in trauma therapy — not just because I studied it, but because I’ve lived through it and walked beside hundreds who have, too.
I was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. At age 11, my family immigrated to the U.S., and with that move came grief, culture shock, bullying, and the pressure of adapting. As the oldest daughter, I became the official family interpreter and developed my perfectionist role along the way.
By 2016, anxiety became a daily battle. By 2019, depression followed. I was high-functioning with many great achievements, but inside, I was barely holding on.
EMDR changed everything. I finally experienced lasting relief, mental clarity and I was able to understand the root of my emotional suffering. It wasn’t just stress. It was trauma and it needed a different kind of healing; EMDR gave me just that.
For years, I believed cacti survived the desert because they didn’t need water.
Cacti do need water. The difference is that their internal system is designed to retain what nourishes them, allowing them to stay resilient even in dry seasons.
They don’t survive because they’re tough.
They survive because of their internal resources.
The same is true for our healing.
We don’t survive because we can handle pain.
We endure because we learn to nourish, heal and care for what’s within.
